The High Desert Makers are:

A 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that is fundraising to open and operate the High Desert Maker Mill in Central Oregon. The facility or “The Maker Mill” will serve as a space for invention, creative collaboration and advanced manufacturing among a myriad of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics oriented activities. The High Desert Makers’ board of volunteers is offering advanced membership sales as it seeks a suitable 5,000 to 7,000 square foot facility in Central Oregon approved for light industrial use.  Become a member!

What is the Maker Movement?

The Maker Movement is the popular resurgence of do-it-yourself culture that encompasses creative activities from advanced  manufacturing like 3D scanning and printing to craftsman or artisanal activities like metal and woodworking.  It is a global movement with not-for-profit and for-profit organizations spread throughout the U.S. and internationally.
